Data Systems Support Specialist
The Data Systems Support Specialist will provide leadership, guidance, and vision for all school-wide data systems at Cheshire Academy, empowering all offices to understand and use data to become more productive and efficient. This position will work closely with administrative department heads, end users and assist in all data-related projects. The Data Systems Support Specialist is an integral member of the Technology Department to support the educational and operational needs of the school as it relates to Data Systems and Technology. The overarching goal of the Data Systems Support Specialist is to oversee the school-wide systems. This position also facilitates end-user training as it relates to data systems and serves as the liaison between vendors and end-users.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manages analyzing and implementing key changes and enhancements to the school’s database such as importing / exporting information as well as creating reports.
- Working with the Director of Technology and Information Systems suggests and maintains policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the school’s data systems.
- Guides users in establishing and maintaining peak database efficiency, performance, accuracy, and security.
- Serves as main point of contact for faculty, staff, students, and families regarding data system related questions and requests.
- Reviews database procedures to ensure the integrity of the database and the data which it contains.
- Manages the data of all Blackbaud databases.
- Manages the data of SchoolAdmin Admission Platform.
- Manages the users and groups of Microsoft Active Directory.
- Oversees users with utilization of data within the school’s database systems.
- Oversees users with extracting data for use with other systems on campus.
- Oversees regular meetings of key data personnel on campus to monitor data entry and information flow.
- Reviews database procedures to ensure the integrity of the database and the data which it contains.
- Other duties as assigned by Director of Technology and Information Systems
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and 3 years of experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with database management in an academic network environment
- Knowledge of Blackbaud, School Admin or another School Information System is required.
- Experience with SQL and/or report writing.
- Experience with importing data
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products, especially Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Outlook.

- Candidates must be eligible to work in the U.S.
This position is not eligible for school provided housing. Salary and benefits are competitive. Candidates must be able to successfully complete a criminal back ground check. This is a full-time, 12-month position.
