1:1/BYOD IT coordinator
The Lycée Français de New York (LFNY), a world-leading independent bilingual French school, launched a 1:1 iPad program in 2014. This innovative initiative, supported by the Digital Learning and the IT teams, has been a great success and the program is continuing in the primary school and expanding in the middle school.
Along with this 1:1 program, a BYOL (Bring Your Own Laptop) plan is being rolled out in high school. In September 2018, all the students from 3rd grade to 12th grade will have access to an individual device in the classroom.
As these programs are about to reach their complete implementation, the Lycée Français de New York is opening a new position in the Technology department.
Reporting to the Information Technology Director, the 1:1/BYOD IT coordinator has strong project management skills and will be in charge of many aspects of the 1:1 and BYOD programs, detailed as follows.
Responsibilities include :
- Assisting the Director of Digital Learning and the Director of Technology in designing and planning the 1:1 and BYOD programs (budget, annual timeline, replacement/refresh cycles)
- Assisting the Director of Technology and the Systems Administrator in ensuring the school’s infrastructure (network, servers, security,...) supports efficiently the 1:1 and BYOD programs
- Collaborating with the pedagogical teams to evaluate the program, digital content and training needs for each department/grade
- Reporting to the Director of Digital Learning and the Director of Technology from a support and infrastructure perspective as to the progress and needs of the programs
- Purchasing devices, accessories and digital content
- Maintaining accurate inventory and assignment of all equipment and digital content.
- Organizing the annual refresh cycle (clean-up, upgrade, roll-out) for all 1:1 grades
- Managing the school’s MDM system (accounts, profiles, devices, deployment, restrictions) in collaboration with the Systems Administrator
- Offering technical support to students and teachers with their 1:1 device (iPad, laptop), as well as general IT support, as needed.
- Communicating with all 1:1/BYOD stakeholders (staff, parents, students) and assisting the Director of Technology and the Director of Digital Learning in creating communication materials for presentation/training
- Leading training and device roll-out sessions
Skills and competencies :
- Strong project management and organization/multitasking skills
- High level of knowledge of all Apple devices and OS
- Strong experience in deploying Apple devices in a large-scale environment
- Strong experience in working in an educational environment
- Experience working with adults and students who approach the use of computer and technology from an educational point of view
- Strong communication skills and ability to adapt communication to a specific audience (students, parents, teachers)

Requirements :
- 3+ years Apple device management using JAMF Casper in a large environment, educational preferred.
- Casper Certification (CCA, CCE) is a plus.
- 3+ years Apple OS server administration experience
- Recent ACMT certification
- Fluent in written and spoken French and English
- Basic understanding of network infrastructure and protocols
- Basic understanding of MS Active Directory
- Basic understanding of Google Apps for Education (GAFE)
Working Conditions :
Some work during extended hours and on weekends is required.
