Position Summary |
The Academic Classroom Technology Specialist works with UWL faculty, staff and students and is responsible for, but not limited to, design, install, configure, repair, maintenance and support for classroom and presentation (AV) technologies, video-teleconference, distance education, and lecture capture/recording in all UWLlearning spaces. The position provides onsite support for the technology podiums; responding to support requests, checking functionality of the technology as needed, and ensuring equipment is in working order. The Academic Classroom Technology Specialist works alongside other ITS staff with planning, installation, integration, and security of room technologies and related hardware components in a manner that is timely and consistent with best practices, and provides secure and safe end-user access. This position reports to the Assistant Director of Academic Technology Services.

Required Qualifications |

Bachelor’s Degree in a technology related field from an accredited 4-year College or University (or seven years of field related experience in lieu of degree).

At least 2 years of experience in Information technology/educational technology media support.

Knowledge of classroom presentation (AV) technologies and related peripheral technologies experience/skills using, supporting and/or integrating (AV) media presentation technologies, including but not limited to file transfer, production, or distribution of digital media files and resources.

Experience using, supporting, and integrating both analog and digital A/V signals presentation technologies.

Ability to perform hardware set up and troubleshoot AV technologies and computers.

Basic understanding of network systems.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Knowledge of Microsoft Windows and MAC operating systems.

Experience with control systems.
