Roland Park Country School, a K-12 girls’ school with a co-ed pre-school is seeking an Academic Technology Specialist to begin immediately.  Primary responsibilities include supporting K -12 teachers in integrating technology into the classroom, evaluating and presenting new educational tools and apps and designing and delivering technology-related professional development.  Important qualities include collaboration, flexibility, strong communication and organization skills and the ability to problem-solve creatively. This position reports to the Assistant Head of School for Academics and meets and collaborates regularly with the EdTech Committee.

 

The Academic Technology Specialist will…

  • Lead and collaborate with faculty and members of the EdTech committee to integrate educational technology into the classroom for in-person, hybrid and virtual learning.

  • Evaluate new technologies, initiatives and trends to discover innovative ways to enhance instruction.

  • Work with department chairs, teachers and their students to develop technology objectives for their departments.

  • Assist teachers in using technology to help solve social justice issues.

  • Design, coordinate, and deliver professional development related to new teaching or learning technologies through self-paced lessons, presentations, and workshops in all 3 divisions.

  • Troubleshoot questions and problems related to the use of teaching and learning tools.

  • Obtain and update technology licenses.

  • Oversee and distribute login information and resets.

  • Work in collaboration with the IT department to manage the learning management system.

  • Possess strong communication skills and the ability to effectively collaborate with colleagues.

Qualifications:     

  • B.A. degree or equivalent – Master’s degree desirable

  • Prior experience working with students in a school

  • High proficiency in GSuite and Microsoft products and prior experience working with Blackbaud (or equivalent) LMS

  • Experience with multiple platforms including Windows 10, MAC OSX and iOS, and Chrome
