Advancement Communications Coordinator
Reports to: Director of Advancement
Position Purpose: Directs Alumni Relations Programming for the Advancement Office and assists the Marketing Department with communication needs
Essential Functions

Directs and manages all Alumni budgets, programs and events

Leads Alumni Board
-
Provides stewardship and fosters relationships among various constituencies to increase both volunteer participation and giving

Liaises with the Shorecrest Community Association (SCA), Booster Club and various other organizations
-
Co-Sponsors Student Ambassador Program
-
Assists the Marketing Department with various communication needs
Alumni Programs
-
Oversees the activities of the Alumni Association
-
Manages all alumni events, award ceremonies, record keeping and communications/social media
-
Provides stewardship and fosters relationships among alumni to increase both volunteer participation and financial support
-
Other duties as assigned by the Director of Advancement
Communications

Works with the Marketing department on school wide communication (including magazine and newsletter articles, email campaigns, press releases and other content as needed)

Assists with social media content creation/management and video & multi-media projects

Other duties as assigned by the Director of Marketing and Communications
Qualifications:
-
Bachelor's Degree
-
A minimum of three years of relevant experience in a nonprofit environment, with a preference for candidates with independent school experience
-
Shorecrest Alumni preferred
-
Ability to communicate effectively with the Director of Advancement, coworkers, school representatives, parents, students, alumni, donors and representatives from the business community

Ability to think and plan strategically and creatively
-
Strong computer and analytical skills, excellent oral and written communication skills and video/digital media skills
-
Ability to work basic office equipment and programs

Committed to inclusion and issues of social justice and equity
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

Occasionally lift up to 20 pounds

Generally works in standard office conditions and climate

May work in varied outside weather conditions during special activities and fundraising events

May work weekend or evening hours on occasion to support various advancement activities and events
-
Works in a very busy and highly involved environment dealing with a wide variety of challenges, deadlines and a varied and diverse array of contacts

May work at a desk and computer for extended periods of time
