Assistant Director of Technology.
Notre Dame Preparatory, a Catholic, independent, college preparatory school for girls for grades 6-12 located in Towson, Maryland is seeking candidates for a full-time Assistant Director of Technology.
The Assistant Director of Technology reports to the Director of Technology and is responsible for all technologies and communications (hardware and software) servicing NDP’s internal infrastructure, academic technologies and administrative programs. The Assistant Director of Technology’s primary function is to support the technologies used in NDP’s Strategic Plan for teaching, learning, leading, and working in the 21st century.
Duties include, but are not limited to:

Support the Director of Technology and manage and develop support staff, including IT Support Specialist and Help Desk Technician positions. Confidently motivate, mobilize, and coach employees to meet high performance standards. Provide leadership support to student technology clubs as necessary.

Assist the Director of Technology in maintaining awareness and knowledge of emerging academic technologies and resources, including developing relationships with other educational institutions of equivalent size and technological environments and philosophies.

Assist the Director of Technology in controlling departmental expenditures set within the allocated technology budget. Primarily responsible for ordering of hardware, software and services for technology expenses and reviewing and submitting invoices for processing payments.

Assist the Director of Technology in providing research and evaluations of all new technologies and determine feasibility for implementation into NDP’s environment. Develop project implementation plans and schedules when necessary.

Assist the Director of Technology in implementing Cyber Security standards school wide in accordance with Local and Federal guidelines and as determined by our Security as a Service provider. Monitor and prioritize workflows to remediate or reduce risk regarding know Cyber Security vulnerabilities.

Generate daily and weekly ticket tracking and reporting data and develop strategies for improvement according to set performance measurements.

Manage all aspects of hardware asset management and software license compliancy. This includes all technology assets that are owned, leased or subleased by NDP, including copiers and printers.

Manage performance of all systems and provide network infrastructure support, including server management and rollout, in conjunction with the NDP’s Managed Network Service Provider.

Provide back-end support as required for school-wide systems, such as Blackbaud products (Financial Edge, Raiser’s Edge and Education Edge), Blackboard and other databases as required.

Other duties as assigned by the Director of Technology.
Personal skills and attributes must include:

Bachelor’s Degree in Information Science, Computer Science, Software Engineering or other relevant field or equivalent combination of training and experience

Minimum of five years of progressively responsible professional experience in a related technical field

Strong understanding of IT operations including service desk, desktop and server support, networking, network security, computer operation and customer service principles

Demonstrates sound leadership qualities with collaborative positive attitude

Flexible team player who thrives in environments requiring ability to effectively prioritize and juggle multiple concurrent projects
