Sacramento Country Day School, the regional leader in Pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade independent school education since 1964, seeks an Assistant Director of Technology Education who is responsible for providing leadership, direction, and support for technology integration in the lower and middle school. This full-time position works closely with the Director of Technology to develop and implement a comprehensive technology curriculum that aligns with the school’s goals and mission. The successful candidate will possess strong technical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for educational technology. The pay range for this position is $70,000 - $85,000 annually, depending upon education and experience.

The Assistant Director of Technology Education is responsible for:

  • Technology Curriculum and Instruction:
    • Collaborate with the Director of Technology to develop, implement, and evaluate technology curriculum for lower and middle school students for 2-3 classes as needed.
    • Provide professional development and training for teachers on effective technology integration in the classroom.
    • Integrate digital citizenship concepts into the technology curriculum to foster responsible and ethical technology use.
    • Assist in the planning, implementation, teaching of the Robotics program for lower school with the Director of Technology.
  • Technology Support and Troubleshooting:
    • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for students, teachers, and staff in the lower and middle schools.
    • Respond to help tickets in a timely and efficient manner.
    • Troubleshoot technology equipment in the Lower and Middle School.
    • Collaborate with the IT department to address technology issues and implement solutions.
    • Audio/Visual support/assistance for campus events
  • Technology Integration:
    • Promote and support the integration of technology into the instructional program.
    • Observe and Collaborate with teachers to identify and implement innovative technology-based teaching and learning strategies.
    • Stay current with emerging technologies, platforms, and trends in education, including Google Classroom, Workspace, Chromebooks, etc.
    • Ensure the security and integrity of technology systems and data.
    • Must be willing to engage in professional development in order to improve performance and knowledge base.

Requirements

The successful candidate will have of the following attributes:

  • Bachelor's degree in education, technology, or related field preferred.
  • Experience in technology integration and curriculum development.
  • Strong technical skills, including proficiency in various software applications and hardware troubleshooting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively and appropriately with students, teachers, administrators, and staff.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload.
  • Success working with children in a classroom setting
  • Patience, kindness, and an overtly warm manner with children
  • Ability to set boundaries with children in a firm but loving way
  • Ability to support the social-emotional growth of students and support problem-solving and conflict resolution

Physical Requirements:

  • Needs to be able to pick up 50 lbs. and provide support in moving or installing technology, including computers, monitors, speakers, and other devices or technology.

School requirements include: Background check, First Aid/CPR training (school sponsored), negative TB result.
