The Assistant Manager of Communications is a key member of the Marketing and Communications team and
is responsible for communications to current parents and enrollment prospects. Duties include creating and
editing weekly parent newsletters and email communications to parents, as well as implementing marketing
communications to enrollment prospects. The Assistant Manager serves as a liaison with the Office of
Admission and outside vendors. The Assistant Manager reports to the Director of Communications.

Major Responsibilities
The Assistant Manager of Communications is responsible for the following activities, as well as other duties as
assigned.

 

Parent Communications

  • Provides communications support to Upper School, Middle School and Village School Directors in weekly

  • newsletters to parent communities.

  • Communications support to include:

    • Creating, editing and proofreading copy.

    • Creating newsletter layouts and providing technical support on MailChimp and eNotify programs.

    • Assisting in securing and inserting photographic and video content.

  • Produces email communications to parents on behalf of the Communications department and various

  • parent groups.

  • Develops newsletters for Performing Arts, STEM and other divisions as assigned.

  • Manages electronic marquee and road signage requests and scheduling.

 

Admissions Communications

  • Creates newsletter, email and general marketing content and develops schedule to reach prospects with

  • ongoing news of Chadwick.

  • Oversees all electronic and postal marketing communications to newly admitted students.

  • Updates welcome package/collateral materials for new admits and manages distribution.

  • Works with Multimedia Producer to develop content for videos for new admits, financial aid, etc.

 

Marketing and Branding

  • Works to ensure Chadwick quality standards and brand guidelines are followed in all communications.

  • Design layouts and content for newsletters, fliers, etc.

 

Analytics

  • Monitors parent email and divisional and departmental newsletter open rates and click-through rates on a

monthly basis and provides recommendations for enhancements and improvements.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Two to four years of demonstrated experience in internal and external communications, with

  • extensive knowledge of AP style.

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, journalism or related field.

  • Excellent command of English language (both spoken and written), and expertise writing, editing and

  • proofreading copy with clarity, brevity and creativity.

  • Excellent attention to detail and resourcefulness, proven flexibility, organizational, problem-solving,

  • excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills.

  • Dynamic self-starter and innovator with a commitment to lifelong learning and continuous

  • improvement.

  • Comfortable managing numerous projects in a deadline-oriented environment.

  • Must be a team player who is highly motivated and aligned with the mission and values of Chadwick

  • School and principles of a 21st-century education.

  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, Mac environment, Google Docs, MailChimp and eNotify

  • Preferred experience with content design using Adobe Creative Suite
