We are accepting applications for an Assistant Professor of Educational Technology beginning fall, 2017. Primary responsibilities include teaching courses online in graduate Educational Technology, academic advising and department, school, and university-wide service and committee work.

Qualifications

The minimum/required Qualifications include a Ph.D. in instructional technology, education technology, instructional design, digital media design, or related field. A.B.D.’s are encouraged to apply.  A minimum of three years’ experience in course or curriculum design, online learning and digital media creation/delivery, or technology integration mentoring.  Experience and innovation in the areas of teaching in higher education.  Experience and knowledge of course delivery systems, online course development, and instructional design.  Knowledge of current technology uses in PK12 education.  Ability to research new technologies for use in teaching and in the fields represented by the different programs in the School of Education so as to work with faculty to collaboratively design curricula and integrate these technologies into the learning environment.  The general skills include the ability to communicate effectively with faculty, staff, students, and administrators (written, verbal, electronic).  Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively, efficiently, flexibly, collegially, and collaboratively with faculty, staff, students, administrators, and partners.  Effectiveness and efficiency at planning, problem solving, and working on multiple assignments and in meeting deadlines.  A willingness to support the Mission and Core Values of Marian University.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred qualifications include a Terminal degree in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, or Digital/Multimedia Education. Minimum of three years teaching in PK12 educational setting.  Available to work a non-standard schedule (e.g., evenings, weekends, etc.) in order to support classes and special events.  Demonstrated research and scholarship in the field of Educational Technology.
