Assistant Superintendent - Chief Academic Officer over Curriculum, Instruction, Assessment, and Technology
This is a full time benefited position. The contract is for 245 days. The job will close May 14, 2017. The start date is approximately July 1, 2017.
The applicant must hold a current Utah Administrative License. A doctorate degree in Curriculum, Instruction, Technology or School Administration preferred. Previous experience in supervising district wide educational technology services is preferred. Must have expert knowledge of and prior experience in district level K-12 curriculum design and implementation. Must also be familiar with current research related to instructional effectiveness, assessment and curriculum design. Have a complete understand of the Utah State Core Curriculum and related testing systems. Be prepared to implement the curriculum unity model across a K-12 spectrum. Be professionally trained to promote the effective utilization of PLCs at all levels of the school district. Possess expert data analysis skills, along with a competent utilization of Excel and Google applications. Possess excellent interpersonal and written communication skills. The ability to represent the district in a professional and ethical manner at all times.
The job description is: Maintain a highly collaborative relationship with the District Administrative Team. Advise the Superintendent and School Board in all aspects of curriculum, instruction, assessment, and technology. Provide direction to coordinate, articulate, and align educational curriculum, on a K-12 basis. Working in conjunction with the Deputy Superintendent and the Executive Director of Elementary Education, lead the design, development and evaluation of K-12 staff development programs. Responsible for the development and oversight of multiple budge programs and related fiscal duties, including input of FTE allocations. Provide administrative oversight for all district level grants. Provide administrative oversight for all district assessment functions. Screen and approve all research requests. Working in conjunction with the Deputy Superintendent and the Executive Director of Elementary Education, provide leadership for the establishment of curriculum adoption committees and curriculum design teams. Working in conjunction with the Deputy Superintendent and the Executive Director of Elementary Education, design a three year budgeting plan for K-12 curriculum projects. Order adopted instructional materials and provide training in their effective use. Interact with the Utah State Board of Education on relevant curriculum programs and issues. Represent the Cache County School District on regional and state curriculum committees. Provide overall leadership for the Public Information Office and lead the communication response for all media requests.
