Assistant Technology Manager
The College of Arts and Sciences is seeking to hire an Assistant Technology Manager. This position manages the overall integration, performance, and maintenance of systems hardware and software, and related infrastructure in both academic setting and research computing environment. It only diagnoses and resolves highly complex technical problems with computer hardware, software, and network printers, but it also deploys and administers secure and scalable virtualization and storage infrastructure including Windows and Linux servers, such as network file, print, web, database servers to support research innovation. In addition, the position ensures that the development and implementation of technology security measures meet University’s standards and research compliance requirements such as IRB, HIPAA, FERPA, Animal Care, etc. Assists with technology purchases and maintains inventory control of all information technology equipment in the department. Furthermore, this position provides expert technical advice to a PC technical team, and oversees the delivery of workstation support services.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and four years of related experience; or a combination of education and related experience.

Preferred Hiring Qualifications:

Knowledge of data processing principles, practices, and equipment.

Knowledge of integrated systems and relational database concepts and systems.

Knowledge of IT security and research compliance requirements for IRB, HIPAA, FERPA, etc. related to system administration and implementation.

Knowledge of networking principles and protocols, such as: TCP/IP, HTTP, HTTPS, SMTP, LDAP, FTP, DHCP, DNS, VLANS, and VPN.

Knowledge of Microsoft Windows, macOS, Linux, and programming/scripting languages, such as C, C++, C#, Java, Python, Powershell, Bash, etc.

Experience with Microsoft Active Directory, LDAP, Microsoft SCCM, and content management systems such as WordPress.

Experience with High Performance Computing (HPC) and virtualization technologies: VMware, Microsoft Hyper-V, KVM, and network storage systems such as SAN, NAS, etc.
