As a member of Temple University’s department of Information Security and Privacy, the Associate Director plays an important role in the development, administration and oversight of the University’s Information Security program and day to day supervision of operational staff.
 
Candidate will oversee all aspects of the Enterprise Security Environments and be part of the Security Incident Response Process. Position is responsible for managing and overseeing the “operational” information security and staff and their day to day duties. These include information security and privacy compliance efforts, the development, maintenance, and monitoring of standards, procedures, and guidelines necessary to satisfy the Security and Privacy department’s operational responsibilities.  The associate director will contribute to the development and ongoing maintenance of the Security and Privacy policies and control standards and provide technical leadership and project management skills to support the design, deployment, administration and operation of the security infrastructure and tools. Performs other duties as assigned.
 
Required Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer or Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related field and at least 4 years Information Security experience. Experience and knowledge of security and privacy fundamentals. Security and systems Administration experience for ERP Applications, Oracle, Windows Server Operating Systems, Directory Services, Linux/Unix operating systems: Red Hat Linux, Messaging and collaboration systems. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
 
Required Skills & Abilities:
* Understanding of network systems and security controls, including firewall, IPS, and Siem Tools.
* Ability to identify and troubleshoot Identity, Security and Access Management concerns (LDAP Directories, Web SSO, SAML etc.)
* Understanding of threat analysis and security incident response
   Disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
* Demonstrated project management skills.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills along with the ability to effectively interact with a diverse group of individuals.
* Ability to work nights and/or weekends, if necessary.
 
Preferred:
* Security certification including: CISSP, CISA, CISM or other recognized security certification.
* Specific knowledge of encryption, governance, risk measurement and remediation, and security monitoring.
