Job Summary

The Associate Director of the Institute for Cybersecurity is responsible for technical operations and training for the Institute for Cybersecurity, with a particular focus on the Cybersecurity Simulation Laboratory and Regent Cyber Range. This position serves as the lead cyber security trainer and supports the day-to-day operations of the Institute under the leadership of the Director of the Institute for Cybersecurity.  Essential functions include:

  • Management of the technical operations of the Institute, Lab, and Range
  • Supervising system administration and hardware/software updates in coordination with the IT department
  • Design and implementation of industry-facing professional development training
  • Management of simulation training on the Regent Cyber Range and development of new scenarios based on emerging cyber security threats
  • Serving as the lead cyber security trainer for the Institute
  • Recruitment, training, supervision and development of internal and external technical trainers to support customer needs
  • Networking with current and potential business partners in coordination with the Director of Corporate Partnerships
  • Supporting marking efforts to promote the Institute, Lab and Range, including hosting on-site demonstrations
  • Coordination strategy with the Director of the Institute for Cybersecurity​

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree, preferably in cyber security, computer science, engineering or information systems
  • Minimum of 5 years of technology administration experience
  • Security and network certifications recommended

Candidate must have:

  • Expertise with cyber security systems and technologies, and knowledge of the cyber security industry and community
  • Experience with technical instruction or training
  • Strong communication, organization and documentation skills
  • Ability to work independently with careful planning and precision
  • Ability and willingness to communicate well and to work cooperatively with others
  • Reliable and consistent track record with previous organizations
