Job Description:
SUNY Broome Community College is seeking a full-time Associate Vice President & Dean (AVP/Dean) of Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics (STEM). Reporting to the Executive Vice President & Chief Academic Officer, the successful candidate will provide leadership, support and supervision to division faculty, staff, and students. In addition, the candidate will be responsible for overseeing student learning assessment, accreditation processes, and program development. Other responsibilities include administration and leadership in the areas of planning, evaluating, budgeting, supervising, and implementing division programs. The AVP/Dean will support and enhance the use of academic learning modalities and delivery methods including distance learning and technology classrooms. In this role, the AVP/Dean will emphasize student success, faculty development, program and faculty support, and will also have areas of responsibility of broad-based impact on the college and the academic community.
Requirements:
Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills are required, with an ability to work effectively with a diverse college community, student population, outside representatives, and accreditation organizations. The AVP/Dean must have a background in a science, engineering, technology, or math discipline with strong leadership, management, budgeting, and computer skills.
Master's degree required; doctorate preferred. Minimum of five (5) years of experience working in higher education required, including teaching and academic management. Experience with program accreditation and development is desired. Candidates comfortable in a student-centered environment and committed to the community college mission are encouraged to apply.
Additional Information:
Salary minimum is $101,385. Salary offer will be based on qualifications.
