Campus Technology Officer
Job Profile Summary
Under general direction, provides leadership for, but not necessarily limited to, all functions related to Campus Support, Classroom Technology, Faculty, Staff, Administrators, and Campus Learning Success Initiatives.
Minimum Education:
Master's degree required (Computer Related).
Minimum Experience/Training:
Ten years general business experience, including eight years in management and five years of progressively advanced technical and managerial experience in a technology oriented field. Demonstrates success in executing tactical and strategic responsibilities of high-level management in a dynamic Information Technology environment.

Essential Function:
- Daily - 10%: Provides effective leadership to the college community in fulfilling the mission of the college and develops goals as such relates to the short and long-range strategic initiatives of the Campus Technology Division of Information Technology
- Daily - 13%: Provides leadership in coordinating with college wide technology staff in all phases of academic and administrative computerization in academic and business applications, e.g., classroom technology, specifications, utilization, installations and construction/renovation of buildings.
- Weekly - 10%: Works collaboratively with campus administration to ensure a college-wide perspective while working towards effective attainment of Information Technology goals and objectives with respect to the planning and activities of campus technology initiatives.
- Weekly - 5%: Provides leadership on campus by participating in the development and implementation of IT policies and procedures, and by recommending configurations/type of hardware and software for purchase.
- Daily - 5%: Administers the department cost center by developing and managing the annual budgets and performing periodic cost and productivity analyses.
- Daily - 10%: Utilize ingenuity and inventive thinking to evaluate options for design and deriving the best technology solutions based on sound analytical judgment, team input, and the colleges' best interest.
- Other (Quarterly) - 5%: Stays current with developments by maintaining a broad knowledge of state-of-the-art technology, equipment, and/or systems by attending quarterly seminars.
- Daily - 5%: Acts as the liaison with users and departments by interacting with faculty and staff to determine and interpret information requirements; plans, designs, and develops integrated educational technology solutions.
- Weekly - 5%: Create technical designs for large complicated projects
- Daily 10%: Collaborate with college-wide facilities, architects and other outside agencies to design and develop the educational specifications, IT infrastructure and facility design of all campus construction and renovation projects.
- Daily - 5%: Commits to creating and working in a collaborative and team-building environment.
- Daily - 5%: Fosters, leads, and manages a commitment to diversity in the workplace and an ability to work effectively with people from a variety of backgrounds, ages, genders and personalities.
- Daily - 10%: Manage all life-cycle management processes and documents which include but not limited to Annual ERPM report, Tech Refresh Planning for the campus and all College Wide Master documents, Audio Visual Planning including facilities, electrical, Xerox College Wide scheduling.
- Must work closely with your peers at the South, Central and Fort Lauderdale Centers.
- Daily - 2%: Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
This position will specialize in chairing RFP/ITNs, working closely with faculty on Curriculum support and training. Work closely with the client computing team.
- Knowledge of Microsoft System Center Configuration Manger (SCCM).
- Background in PC support, BYOD and or desktop.
- Models inclusive excellence through specific actions that support the College's diversity goals in the recruitment, hiring, and retention of talented and diverse faculty and staff.
- Broad understanding of the external environment and how it affects academia in general and Broward in particular, including political, legal, environmental, educational, financial and social influences
- Broad understanding of the structure, operations, human resources and finances of the College and the complexities of their interdependencies
- Ability to translate College-wide strategies and priorities into strategic and operational plans and policies for own area
- Ability to understand the impact of own area on the College and to contribute to the development of the College's strategic plan
- Proven leadership skills and managerial expertise, and ability to motivate and empower direct and indirect reports to achieve priorities and expectations for own area
- Ability to forecast and manage budgets and other resource requirements for area of responsibility
- Ability to partner with others across the College and externally develops strategies and plans to exchange information, collaborate on projects, share resources, etc.
- Ability to influence others of the benefits/importance of an idea or plan of action and to gain their support or commitment
