Position Summary

New York University’s prestigious Stern School of Business has an exciting opportunity available in the Information Technology department for a Chief Information Officer (CIO).

 

NYU Stern is one of the largest and most multifaceted business schools in the world and has always been among the most innovative schools programmatically. The school has over 5,000 students and a suite of degree and certificate programs including the flagship undergraduate and full-time MBA programs; part-time, Executive and Global Executive MBA programs; a range of MS degrees; and newly-launched one-year specialized MBAs in New York and Executive MBA in Washington DC.

 

The CIO will work with world-renowned faculty across both graduate and undergraduate programs. The incumbent will work with the school’s leaders to set the school’s vision for information systems. The CIO will design the IT infrastructure, develop and drive technology strategy and be responsible for the integration of business intelligence systems and business analytics that will support the school’s mission and inform decisions. S/he will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and implementing cutting-edge solutions to support teaching, learning, research, and administration. They will also serve as the school’s chief information systems liaison and collaborator with University leaders and will oversee a large staff along with all fiscal and policy governance matters related to information systems activities.

Qualifications

Requirements include: advanced degree (technical degree highly desirable) with extensive, relevant experience, preferably in leadership positions in a higher education environment. Applicants must have deep expertise in the basic areas of IT such as Networks, Cloud Computing (Stern uses Salesforce) Communication, Security, Privacy and so on. They also must have knowledge and understanding of emerging technologies and methodologies such as Business Analytics, Digital Marketing, On Line Education and Digital Support Systems. Also required are basic leadership skills such as strategic planning, communications, management, problem-solving, interpersonal skills and decision-making skills, along with a strong devotion to support the school’s mission and to serve its’ faculty, students and administrative constituencies.
