Description/Job Summary

The Chief Information Officer (CIO) provides institution-wide vision and leadership for the strategic planning, implementation, management, supervision, and evaluation of information technology to advance the goals of the College. Serve as the College's senior advisor on matters related to information technology.

 

Responsibilities/Duties

  • Strong leadership, organizational, decision making, and management skills. 

  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills in building and maintaining levels of trust, mutual respect, and collegiality

  • Ability to think strategically and articulate short- and Long-term needs for information technology.

  • Knowledge and awareness of current trends and issues in higher education related to information technology

  • Excellent critical thinking, analytical, problem solving, organizational, and negotiating skills.

  • Skilled in planning and executing projects and establishing and meeting priorities.

  • Proficiency in time and self- management. 

  • Proven ability to manage numerous complex activities within a multifaceted system.

  • Proven ability to build team support and develop collegiate, collaborative working relationships with a broad range of internal and external constituents.

  • Proficiency in human relations skills 

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, Learning Technology, or related field from an accredited college or university

  • Experience leading the integrative management of an enterprise-wide hardware and software operation

  • Minimum eight (8) years of progressively more responsible experience in leading and managing an information technology operation for a complex operation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Three (3) years of supervisory experience 

  • Experience in an institution of Higher Education
