Job Description: 

Job Summary:
The Classroom Teacher and Technology Director fulfills the mission of St. Mary’s Catholic school by planning, guiding, and evaluating the learning process of students, as well as guiding, coordinating, and implementing the overall technology program of the school. This position reports to the principal and has decision-making responsibilities within the framework of school policies, philosophy, organization, and curriculum.

Duties: 

Essential Duties:
• Support and uphold the philosophy of Catholic education and the mission of the school.
• Act as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Catholic Church.
• Support and adhere to the Standards of Conduct and policies and procedures of the school.
• Plan for instruction with logically sequenced objectives based on adopted curriculum and submit plans according to the school policies.
• Provide appropriate material and resources for students to engage in learning.
• Use effective instructional methods and models according to professional standard practice.
• Use varied assessment tools to perform both formative and summative assessments.
• Provide instruction and assessment for understanding in technology courses (including robotics, elementary programming, digital citizenship, and website design).
• Maintain current and accurate records according to school policies (including: technology inventory and repair history, as well as typical classroom teacher records).
• Practice positive, consistent discipline in the management of the classroom.
• Communicate with parents regarding academic, behavioral, or safety concerns.
• Demonstrate gains in student performance that are in keeping with school goals.
• Demonstrate a willingness to respond to individual learning needs.
• Maintain a work schedule that maximizes availability to the school, students and staff.
• Facilitate, update, and support the Technology Plan with input from school personnel and technology advisors.
• Coordinate the maintenance, operation, management, and configuration of school computers.
• Perform all functions and procedures necessary to install and maintain school network hardware and software.
• Establish and maintain network security and backup systems.
• Support outside contractors in their work for repair or installation of new systems.
• Troubleshoot software and maintain software library and documentation.
• Plan for the purchase and licensing of software and hardware.
• Organize trouble ticket system for faculty and staff and respond in a timely fashion.
• Provide faculty and staff support and training for hardware, software, and network.
• Advise the principal on technology issues and needs within the school and supports technology budget planning.
• Assist the school’s program for ensuring acceptable use.
• Maintain, propose, and implement enhancements to the school website.
• Comply with laws and regulations regarding the use of technology and copyrights.
• Prepare for and conduct end-of-year technology close-out procedures, summer maintenance, and start-of-school preparation.

Minimum Qualifications: 

Education:
• Associate’s degree in subject taught or related field from an accredited American university or equivalent in a foreign country.
