Essential Functions

Assist the Learning Spaces Project Manager with the development, planning, implementation and advocacy of collaboration services and distance education in the College of Engineering. This position will provide troubleshooting of technical equipment; train and supervise student technicians to provide first-line support of staff and faculty meeting in collaborative spaces and teaching in distance learning classrooms; and serve as an escalation point for student technicians.

Other responsibilities for this position include documentation of support calls, maintenance, and utilization records; assist in the installation of audio-visual and collaborative technologies; research and recommend hardware and software to improve the College’s collaborative technologies and provide input on strategic directions to further distance education within the College.

This position reports to the University of Nebraska- Lincoln but is located on the UNO Scott Campus.

Required Qualifications

Associates Degree in Information Technology, Audio or Video Production or equivalent experience plus related certifications, e.g. CTS-I certification, recording engineering, video production. Two years audio/visual installation or production experience required. Software and hardware experience required. Strong communication, documentation, technical skills and troubleshooting skills required. This person must also demonstrate a strong track record of proven customer service skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Audio or Video Production or related, plus related certifications, e.g. CTS-I certification, recording engineering, video production. Experience with distance education support and maintenance, systems documentation, schematic drawings; plus some training, instructional design and project management preferred.
