York Preparatory School is an independent school in NYC, grades 6-12 with approximately 340 students. We are looking for a Communications Coordinator. This will be a new position at York Prep. This person will report to the Head of School and Director of Admissions and Enrollment to assist with all aspects of communication and marketing both within the school community and outside the school community. 

 

We are looking for someone with experience in marketing, website development and maintenance, media and overall communications experience to market the school to prospective families, students, parents, alumni, etc. and coordinate the communications efforts of the school. 

 

Some of the responsibilities will include but are not limited to: 

 

  • Create written content for school publications and communications (print and digital)

  • Photograph and/or video school events as needed

  • Assist with editing of print publications

  • Monitor and update school’s image in press and online

  • Help the school gather and document the school’s history for the 50thyear celebration

  • Create and manage school’s social media presence

  • Create an active parent and alumni group

 

Consideration will be given to candidates with the following qualifications and skills:

 

    Bachelor’s degree 

    Excellent written and verbal communication skills

    Attention to detail and organizational skills

    Interest/experience in journalism photography/videography

    Experience with all relevant computer programs

    Ability to work within a school environment 

    Marketing experience
