Minimum Qualifications:

For this position, employees must have at least one of the following:
1. Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from an accredited college or university AND two years of experience in Computer Information Management; OR
2. Associate’s degree in any discipline from an accredited college or university AND six years of experience in Computer Information Management; OR
3. Valid California Community College instructor credential appropriate to the subject per Education Code 87355 (issued prior to July 1, 1990); OR
4. A combination of education and experience that is at least the equivalent of items 1 or 2 above.

Experience Required:

• Two (2) years full-time (or part-time equivalent) recent and successful experience teaching associate degree level computer courses at a regionally accredited community college and/or university, OR a minimum of two (2) years of recent full-time work experience in related field.
• Experience with college level curriculum development and delivery and learning outcomes design and assessment.
• Evidence of sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.

Desired Qualifications:

• An earned Master’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university in Computer Studies, Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, or related field.
• Experience in teaching academic or industry-standard courses in programming, Mircrosoft office applications, cloud, Linux, cybersecurity, or mobile applications.
• Evidence of recent completion of computer-related courses from an accredited college or university or industry recognized training program resulting in college credit or industry certification.
• Experience teaching in face-to-face, hybrid and online instructional modalities.
• Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in utilizing Learning Management Systems (LMS) such as Canvas or Blackboard to design and deliver course content.
• Demonstrated ability and experience in developing course and program curriculum at the college level.
• Possession of excellent interpersonal, motivational, organizational, time management, written and verbal communication skills.
• Evidence of the ability to utilize a variety of teaching strategies that encourage retention and student success for students at varied levels of preparation.
• Demonstrated experience and commitment to integrating exisitng, new and emerging instructional technologies into the course curriculum.
• Previous experience completing academic program reviews, assessment of Learning Outcomes, at course and program level, and working with Industry to improve or develop instruction.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Possession of Industry recognized Information Technology Certifications such as but not limited to: MCITP, MCTS, Security +, CCNA, CISSP, Linux +, COMP TIA.
• An earned Doctorate.
• Extensive experience with CIM curriculum design and development.

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:

The primary teaching assignment involves teaching associate degree level and/or short-term vocational courses in CIM (Computer Information Management). Assignment may include face-to-face or hybrid courses taught during the day and/or evening. Instruction can be both credit and non-credit. Duties will include the development and expansion of curriculum, assessment of learning outcomes and participation in general faculty functions related to the educational program, in-service programs, committee work and other contractual duties as assigned.
