Computer Science and Makerspace Teacher
The Buckley School, an all boys K-9 school, located on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, is seeking a Computer Science and Makerspace teacher. The Computer Science/Makerspace teacher will report to the Director of Technology and will be responsible for teaching a variety of Computer Science courses as well as managing the Makerspace classroom. This person must like to tinker, create, and troubleshoot. In addition to the normal teaching responsibilities, the selected candidate will provide support/training to colleagues as directed.
The preferred candidate will have 3-5 years of teaching experience, preferably in independent schools. A bachelor’s degree is required. It is preferred that the degree be in Engineering, Computer Science or a related field. The candidate must have experience in computer programming including, but not necessarily limited to C, Python, or JavaScript. Ability to teach robotics is preferred. Experience with 3D printing and laser cutting a plus.
