Computer Science Teacher

Menlo School is seeking a middle-school Computer Science teacher. This is a full-time, benefited position which begins immediately. We are looking for candidates who are excited by the opportunity to create a connected 3-year computer science sequence that is appropriate to middle grade learners.  The person we hire will have the intellectual autonomy to choose the tools and instructional experiences that will best fit their vision for introducing students to algorithmic thinking and coding.  In our hiring process, we are looking for a teacher who will:

help develop and hone an aligned 6-8 Computer Science curriculum with the department,
start students on logical problem-solving skills and lead them through basic algorithm design,
help students find creative solutions to meaningful problems and see how computational thinking is used in many fields,
employ a variety of technologies and programming tools to achieve their curricular goals,
promote thoughtful inquiry-focused dialogue in the classroom,
allow student interests, questions, and misconceptions to affect daily curricular decisions,
differentiate instruction for a range of student abilities,  
invest in the life of the school by actively participating in Advocacy, clubs, and faculty committees (Full-time position),
collaborate on projects and skills with other grade-level core teachers,
share our commitment to cultivating an ever more heterogeneous and inclusive community.
