Job Description
The Desktop Technician will be responsible for technology support, maintenance, installation, and troubleshooting for scientific Linux workstations and computers connected with and/or operating scientific machinery on the Boston University Medical Campus. This position will provide primary support for academic departments' Linux workstations as well as serving as a primary contact point for technology support issues to include Service Desk intake, incident and service request resolution, acting as an escalation point for Client Support Specialist I positions and student assistants, and resolving client support issues at the first and second technical levels. Additionally, this position will provide broad technology support for computers working with scientific machinery, primarily but not exclusively in research cores. Linux experience strongly preferred. Experience in academic research setting encouraged.
 
Required Skills
3-5 years of experience and Bachelor's degree required.
