Computer Teacher/Tech Support
Degreed, credentialed, experienced teacher, with solid background in the area of computer education; possesses a strong Christian testimony and demonstrates Christ-like principles in life; an excellent communicator with a desire and ability to share the gospel and articulate a biblical worldview; exhibits a passion for teaching and working with young people and has an understanding of their individual and age-appropriate developmental needs; has the ability to plan, organize and implement Bethany Christian School approved curriculum and instructional program in a learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their full potential in Christ; upholds the highest standards of excellence, both professionally and personally.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Support, communicate, and actively promote the vision and mission of the school
- Plan, prepare and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences
- Develop lesson plans
- Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities
- Prepare classroom for class activities
- Provide a variety of learning materials and resources for use in instruction and other educational activities
- Identify and employ different instructional resources and methods to meet students' varying needs
- Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment
- Effectively use relevant technology to support instruction, including SMART Board technology
- Observe and evaluate students’ performance and development
- Assign and grade students’ work, and provide students with appropriate feedback
- Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students
- Maintain accurate and complete records of students' progress and development
- Prepare and update all necessary records and reports accurately and completely
- Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures
- Maintain discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of the school
- Provide individual student support through discipleship, counseling, academic coaching, and encouragement
- Participate in relevant extracurricular activities such as social activities, sporting activities, clubs and student organizations
- Show skill and sensitivity in working with all members of the school community
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and parents to meet individual student needs
- Participate in department and school meetings, parent meetings
- Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues and parents regarding student progress and student needs
- Keep up to date with developments in subject area, teaching resources and methods and make relevant changes to instructional plans and activities
- Seek and participate in professional growth opportunities
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Required: Bachelor degree or higher from an accredited institution
- Required: State certification
- Required: ACSI certification (within first three months of hire)
- Required: Current Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Preferred: Three years relevant teaching experience
