Overview

Under the direction of the IT manager for undergraduate admission, and working collaboratively with other university departments, this 1-2-year term position assists with the management, administration, and deployment of undergraduate admissions Information Technology systems. Responsibilities include but are not limited to maintenance of the UG Admission CRM (Slate) throughout the admission cycle from prospect to enrollment, e-mail campaigns and other student communications, user security management, application and portal/web support, creating reports and documentation, user/staff training, and printing/desktop/hardware support.

Responsibilities

Admission CRM (Slate) Administration

Performs software maintenance, enhancements, and configurations necessary to ensure reliable business workflow in Slate environment; maintenance of applicant and staff portals (included but not limited to Applicant Status Portal, Admitted Student Website, Arts Supplement Portal, ASC Interview Portal); assists with creation and deployment of communication campaigns within Slate (email and print); administration of user accounts and security; creates reports including those involving custom SQL as needed to support the admission cycle; provides user documentation and training to admission staff. Knowledge in the following areas is required: SQL, systems/technology integration, spreadsheets, database applications, programming/scripting, html, xml, and other web technologies.

SCAD/DCS - Desktop and Hardware Support

Assists with configuration/maintenance of Windows 7, 10, Mac OSx operating systems and support of desktops, laptops, copiers, scanners, and mobile devices in accordance with University guidelines.

Significant experience in administration, maintenance and support of Windows and Mac operating systems, Microsoft Office products, as well as administrative and software applications; practical comprehension of IT security, network and firewall technologies; good understanding of current applications and trends in academic and information systems technology.

  • Configure PCs according to Princeton University guidelines.
  • Migrate user data to new hardware.
  • Support, educate and train administrative staff on proper computing techniques.
  • Maintain accurate job and inventory records.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair computing problems posed by administrative staff.
  • Troubleshoot PC hardware and software, printers, copiers, scanners, and mobile devices.
  • Prepare equipment for surplus.
  • Attend monthly SCAD/DCS meetings and training when possible.

Communications

 

Position will work closely with Admissions communications staff to setup e-mail and print campaigns for delivery, generate and printing mail merges, and ensure successful campaign delivery. Proofreading, writing skills, and attention to detail are required.

Qualifications

Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree

Preferred Education:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, web technology, or related field.

Required Experience:
5+ years' relevant experience providing technical and operational support in a fast-paced environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Experience:
Higher education experience (e.g., admissions)

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Proficiency with SQL, systems/technology integration, spreadsheets, database applications, programming/scripting, desktop/hardware support, html, xml, and other web technologies. Ability to track multiple projects, set priorities, and meet deadlines under pressure and with frequently changing priorities. Ability to manage time effectively. Strong communications skills, both spoken and written; excellent proofreading and writing skills. Great organizational and interpersonal skills with meticulous attention to detail. Demonstrated commitment and ability to maintain compliance with established guidelines, policies, and procedures in order to ensure consistency. Ability to clearly and effectively convey complex information to individuals or groups of people of varying experience levels. Must have the ability to exercise good judgment while working collegially in a high pressure, deadline-driven environment.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Systems experience with CRM implementation/management, PeopleSoft SIS, programming and scripting languages, Microsoft Sharepoint, document imaging systems (e.g. OnBase), information technology security.
