Data Manager
Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:

Microsoft excel, Microsoft Excel Power Pivot, python/MATLAB/BASH shell scripting experience preferred. Database development and maintenance experience preferred. Experience with medical information systems is preferred. Research experience preferred with knowledge of regulatory procedures for limited data sets and anonymization of data. Experience with data communication and data visualization preferred.

A minimum of seven years' experience required for appointment at the senior level.

A criminal and/or caregiver background check will be conducted.
Principal duties:
(40%) Data management/processing
-
Query and process data to meet the research needs based on specifications.

Monitor data conversion/integration, data integrity, data documentation and quality assurance.

Perform data validation, matching, and manipulation.
-
Participate in the policy development related to database access control and version control.
-
Develop software for data manipulation and analysis.
-
Comply with University of Wisconsin regulatory policies (including HIPAA policies) and be knowledgeable of the Department of Radiology guidelines for recommended computer hardware and software practices.
(30%) Clinical Protocol Support

Assist in programming computed tomography (CT scanners).
-
Entering acquisition, processing, safety, and networking scanner instructions.

Checking entered scan parameters entered onto CT scanners.

Maintaining CT protocol instructions using a web-based mediawiki-powered Wiki.
(20%) Data collection
- Participate in the collection of data from PACS, CT dose databases, RIS, and Powerscribe.
(10%) Communication and visualization

Be conversant and gain knowledge in the domain of research.

Diligently document and comment code.

Be able to understand data needs and communicate results to the research team using visual tools.

Participate in regular meetings with researchers from different disciplines such as Radiology, Medicine, Engineering, Medical Physics, Computer Science, and Statistics. The candidate would also be invited to UWSMPH Radiology IT meetings and some UW Health IT meetings to be exposed to informatics projects going on outside of the listed job duties.
