Database Coordinator
Community School of Naples, an independent, PK-12, co-educational, college preparatory school, is seeking a Part Time/Full Time Database Coordinator. This position has the primary responsibility for administering information data and online resources while working to oversee, maintain and support all school databases. This position reports directly to the Director of Learning & Technology and works closely with Administrative and Academic Divisions including Lower, Middle and Upper Schools, Academic Divisions, Admissions, and the Business Office.
This 12-month administrative position maintains and monitors on-going system data integrity and security and is responsible for providing in-house expertise, technical support, training new users and responding promptly to day-to-day departmental needs. This position infuses the blend of database management, customer service, leadership and organizational skills.
Requirements
Student Information System experience required with working knowledge and understanding of Senior Systems preferred
Familiarity with the Learning Management System (LMS) – Finalsite or similar LMS System
Strong attention to detail with ability to work quickly, accurately and well under deadline pressure
Excellent organization, documentation, verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work well with others and as part of a team while supporting a wide range of user skills levels
Ability to coordinate multiple assignments simultaneously, self-motivated, confidential, and flexible
BA/BS degree or higher in a related field
Duties include but are not limited to the following specific functions:
Oversee, maintain and support CSN databases with a keen focus on the Student Information System - Senior Systems (SS), MyBackPack (MBP) and Learning Management System (LMS) – Finalsite)
Develop and implement database queries and data exports in response to requests for information including providing timely academic records/reports
Design and create custom reports utilizing reporting tools, templates and forms
Perform data entry and continuously check on the integrity and security of data entered, especially in SS and the flow data to other systems
Provide daily information updates as needed to ensure accuracy of database queries, exports and reporting
Knowledge of how SS ties into the LMS - Finalsite via academic class feeds
Troubleshooting on a daily basis Senior Systems & MyBackPack (MBP) including the MBP app, for Parents, Students and Faculty/Staff
Working with College Counseling to upload/refresh student data to Naviance and data import to Nursing database software
Maintain the Emergency Notification System (Blackboard Connect) with feed to SS
Upload student and faculty photos to Senior Systems while managing feed to LMS -Finalsite and MyBackPack – keeping the photos and student id cards current in the media files
Conduct regular data clean-up needs based on established database standards and procedures
Offer technical support for trouble-shooting and perform professional development training that engages primary users
Participate in IT planning meetings to collaboratively discuss enhancements & system upgrades
Attend training sessions offered by Senior Systems and Finalsite
Compensation and Benefits
This part-time position is paid on an hourly basis, commensurate with experience, degree attainment and other qualifications. Working hours will average 24 hours per week, scheduled as 8:00am to 3:00pm, 4 days per week. If this position develops into full time employment, it will be eligible for medical, dental, vision, life, AD&D and disability benefits. Participation the CSN’s 403(b) retirement program is available to all employees.
