Overview – The Digital Content Manager will have primary responsibility for maintenance of the New Hampton School web site (www.newhampton.org) and the creative production of digital communications through increased video, social media presence, and ongoing web site content and activity. As advised by the Director of Communications, this individual will work closely with the offices of admission and advancement, and the whole school community. The Digital Content Manager must have experience with web site design, ideally Whipple Hill and/or the ability to rapidly master the site. In addition, the Digital Content Manager will have advanced video production skills with the ability to create dynamic videos for a variety of different usages.
This is a full-time, year round position with benefits.
 
Reporting – The Digital Content Manager (DCM) reports to the Director of Communications.

General Responsibilities-The following is a summary of the responsibilities of the DCM:

Web Responsibilities:

• Work with and support the Director of Communications and serve as the Webmaster to maintain an up-to-date website
• Create web pages & manage creation of auxiliary sites and/or integration into current site
• Prepare text, photos, and video for the web
• Create e-newsletter templates & assist in weekly design/layout as needed
• Manage employee and parent resources available securely via the web site
• Work with vendors (Whipple Hill, our web service provider) to resolve issues and propose enhancements
• Assist in planning for future updates to the site
• Integrate social media into the site
• Engage in ongoing SEO efforts
• Examine and interpret analytics
• Regulate and manage levels of access for users and user roles

Digital Content Production:

• Produce regular and timely videos for web and social media (admission videos, website features, alumni spotlights, interviews)
• Support social media channels, gather and interpret analytics
• Produce content (video and other) to be used specifically for social media
• Manage annual surveys
• Assist with digital campaigns
• Engage students in video production and digital content collection to the benefit of the school
• Assist Director of Communications with digital story telling
• Assist Advancement office with digital stewardship pieces
• Assist with management and organization of digital content (Photo tagging and organization, media storage, etc.)
 

Requirements-The Digital Content Manager should have the following skills and competencies:
 
• A Bachelor’s Degree required
• Degree in video production, media arts, communications or relevant experience
• Experience with web design, video production, and/or digital media
• Experience with Whipple Hill and/or Adobe Creative Cloud preferred
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to collaborate and work independently
• Strong organizational ability and time management skills
• High level of enthusiasm for working with adolescents
• Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to meet deadlines
• Self-motivated
• Occasional evening and weekend work
• Occasional travel for trainings or conferences
• Successfully complete a criminal background check and motor vehicle check
