We are searching for an experienced Director Academic Technology and Network Services
Collin College is seeking an outstanding leader to join its IT team. The primary role of this position is to provide leadership in the planning, development, and maintenance of administrative and educational computer and media systems as well as the College's network infrastructure.
This position will work hand-in-hand with the Executive Director of Academic Technology and Network Services. Collin College is in the midst of a major growth program, with plans for expanding its footprint with four new campuses with over 1.1M sq. ft. in the next five years.

Job Purpose:
Assist the Executive Director with the planning, development, and maintenance of administrative and educational computer systems, network hardware/software, WAN, voice, video, and media equipment to ensure that these hardware and software systems meet the needs of the institution toward fulfilling the strategic plan of the District.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist the Executive Director with the management of contracts and other business relationships including vendors regarding networks, computer hardware/software, and media equipment.

Supervise the technical staff charged with various aspects of computer administration and network systems, the staff in Media Services supporting classrooms, and the telecommunications staff with voice, video. and data networks support. Supervise technology support staff as they oversee meetings and district events.

Plan and direct projects with maximum flexibility and minimum disruption of current operations and services.

Assist the Executive Director with directing the technology support for classrooms and laboratories, media, voice, and video within the District.

Assist the Executive Director with the maintenance of license agreements. Implement the review of software used on the network and in computer laboratories to ensure usage is within copyright guidelines.

Interact and work cooperatively with the college community on assessing needs and effectiveness of Academic Technology & Network Services, and collaborate with instructional administration and faculty to ensure effective computer and media equipment, software, and related systems and support are provided in classrooms and laboratories with the District.

Serve as back-up for the Executive Director of Academic Technology and Network Services.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Perform all duties to maintain all standards in accordance with College policies, procedures, and core values.
Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a related field from a regionally accredited institution and five (5) years of related experience, including two (2) years of supervisory experience required.

Progressive experience supervising large, multi-site computer networks.

Experience supervising academic computer labs desired.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
Light Work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly having to move objects.
