Director of Education Technology & Information Systems
Idyllwild Arts Foundation (IAF) seeks a dynamic and forward thinking candidate for the position of Director of Education Technology & Information Systems (Director). As the leader in the development of innovative technologies that support teaching, learning, student life and administrative operations, the Director will possess in-depth technical expertise and with the support of the Chief Operating Officer, will provide strategic leadership, planning, and management to all areas of information technology. The Director will develop and oversee campus-wide technology policies, procedures, services and facilities. The Director will work collaboratively with academic leadership to develop effective strategies for integrating technology into the curriculum. Qualified candidates will have a passion for technology and education, and proven leadership, management, and decision making skills. The successful candidate will be a hands-on manager and will have the ability to develop and lead strategic and operational initiatives; will have proven supervisory and staff development skills; and will possess exceptional communication and customer service skills. College degree in related field and a minimum of 5 years of technology management experience required. Experience in an educational setting, as well as experience with Blackbaud K-12 preferred.

RESPONSIBILITES

Working with the school’s academic and administrative leadership, provide strategic planning and strong collaborative leadership to set the direction and implement information technologies to support the school’s mission.

Oversee all information technology resources including personnel, budgets, network infrastructure, academic and administrative systems, and phone/cell phone services.

Manage 2 full time staff and supervise technology services and facilities including computer labs.

Support the Chief Operating officer in creating and administering the technology operating and capital budgets.

Provide and maintain a high quality technology support environment for all faculty, staff, and students.

Work with the academic leadership to develop ways and strategies to effectively integrate technology into the curriculum.

Establish and enforce information technology standards, procedures, and policies.

Hold regular departmental meetings to review strategic goals and initiatives, promote team building and work to provide professional growth paths for staff.

Establish school infrastructure to support and guide divisions and departments in computing and information technology efforts.

Identify emerging information technologies to be assimilated, integrated, and introduced within the school infrastructure.

Oversee the development, design, and implementation of new applications and changes to existing computer systems and software packages.

Assess new computing technologies and the feasibility of system enhancements to determine potential value for the school.
- Supervise the ordering, acquisition, inventorying, and disposition of hardware and software.
REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION - Bachelor’s degree Bachelor’s degree in IT, education or related field required, Master’s degree preferred. LEADERSHIP QUALITIES

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum five years of significant Information Technology (IT) leadership experience and proven success in managing information technology resources and services, preferably in an educational environment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENTS
While Performing The Duties Of This Position An Incumbent May Be Required To:

Regularly remain sedentary for long periods of time in meetings and while processing information and paper work both manually and on a computer.

Reach with the hands, arms, and use of hands to finger, type, and manipulate a computer keyboard and mouse.

Additionally, the incumbent must be able to converse in clear English both written and orally, over a telephone and in person.

Occasionally, incumbent may be required to lift up to 45 pounds, traverse uneven terrain and climb stairs while moving about campus, bend and stoop, conduct tours and show visitors campus facilities.
- Work hours vary and may include days, nights, and weekends.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Ability and desire to work within the Idyllwild community, Riverside County, or commute a reasonable distance, that does not impede on-time arrival during winter months. Obtain and maintain a valid California Driver License, pass a criminal history background check as required by California Education Code Section 44237, and pass a TB test.
