Director of Educational Technology
DIRECTOR OF EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGY
FALL 2015
Oldfields School, an all-girls 8th-12th grade boarding and day school, is seeking an experienced full-time Director of Educational Technology. The position may include serving as an advisor to students, leading or assisting co-curricular activities such as yearbook or sports and other responsibilities specific to the needs of boarding school life. Faculty housing may be available. This position will report to the Associate Dean of Faculty/Director of the Library.
Responsibilities include:
· Supporting the daily, drop-in or scheduled, educational technology needs of students and teachers.
· Conducting individual, small group or large group technology lessons for students or staff, as needed. Also teaching technology sessions in student Seminars.
· Solving problems within academic departments related to technology integration, including identifying applications that enhance teaching.
· Providing on-going education and support for use of the following technology devices and applications: Promethean ActivPanels, Smart TVs, Google Drive, teacher classpages, Blackbaud FAWeb and Education Edge.
Staying current with technology trends and maintaining continuing education as needed in order to respond to staff and student needs.
· Maintaining the faculty Educational Technology page on the school website, which includes updates on ed-tech trends, professional development opportunities, and instruction guides/FAQs for frequently used school technology and applications.
Qualifications include:
· BA in Educational technology or similar field, or related teaching experience.
· Knowledge of current pedagogical strategies and high proficiency with educational technology.
· Proficiency with both PC and Apple technology, including laptops, tablets and phones.
· An interest in working with a diverse community of girls and staff.
· The ability to work collaboratively with other members of the technology team.
· Knowledge of current technological trends and skills.
