New College of Florida is accepting applications for the Director of Educational Technology Services (ETS).
The ETS Director oversees Educational Technology Services and the Academic Resource Center, and administers Canvas (Instructure), the campus learning management system and other learning technologies. This position works with individual faculty to understand the teaching/learning environment, review technological options related to teaching needs, collaborates with faculty to identify technologies that will enhance learning, and trains faculty to use new technology. S/he supports faculty in the evaluation, selection, and use of various instructional technology tools and media services, including distance education, technologies, lecture capture, etc. and promotes the use of effective technology tools to enhance teaching, research, and educational projects.
Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to networking with IT professionals inside and outside NCF, monitoring trends and developments in IT across disciplines and academia more generally, evaluating their suitability for New College's program and evaluating the impact of changing technology solutions on current and future ETS needs. This position also serves as liaison to statewide advisory boards and committees (e.g. Florida Virtual Campus).
