Job Description:

This position oversees daily operations of a technical support unit in an academic School/College. This position is responsible for training and supervision of a small technical staff, one or more consultants, and student workers in order to support a technology platform comprised of a wide range of electronic assets including virtual and physical servers, computers, printers, copiers, telephony and handheld user devices. In addition to daily operations, this position will devise and implement technological and resource strategies based on the School of Education’s strategic plans. This position will also oversee the operation of the various School of Education networked platforms and their resources. In support of the School of Education and Syracuse University missions, this position will define departmental team structures, responsibilities, priorities, goals and objectives. In consultation with School of Education faculty and staff and considering existing University infrastructure, will determine and/or suggest the technologies best suited to the School’s needs. The position will also serve as the School of Education liaison to the University’s Technology Leadership Committee and other technology committees as appropriate.
