Develop strategic plans to implement IT applications plans to support the academic mission of the Silver School of Social Work. Direct the implementation of IT projects from design and development to production, and manage project teams and resolve conflicts within groups. In coordination with the faculty, oversee desktop, classroom, online learning, and research technology support. In coordination with the School's Communications Office, manage the School’s website. Establish computing policies, standards, practices, and security measures to ensure effective and consistent information processing and systems support.

Qualifications

Required Education:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Education:
Master's degree in information technology or instructional design.

Required Experience:
8-10 years of demonstrated success at the information technology manager level within a large government organization, multinational corporation or a University managing a technology function with large staffs and budgets or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Experience:
Demonstrated success as an information technology manager within a large and complex University.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Strong understanding of hardware, software, database management, networking, learning technologies, website and social media is required along with working knowledge of data warehousing, telephony, web-design, ActivDirectory/Novell Netware/LAN, and emerging technologies. Strong team leadership and management skills including the ability to analyze trends and make recommendations.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Effective communication and relationship building skills with multiple constituencies. Ability to effectively integrate and manage complex projects. Capacity for flexible thinking with excellent analytical, negotiation and problem-solving skills. Ability to negotiate conflict and maintain constructive working relationships with people at all levels of an organization, both inside and outside the University.
