JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for directing all information technology (IT) functions for Gordon State College.
MAJOR DUTIES
- Administers college information systems, database projects, and production systems; coordinates among client offices and the various units of Computer Services in systems development, project management, testing and implementation.

Researches, evaluates, recommends, and implements emerging technology-based opportunities for improving college operations and services; communicates with vendors, users, management and technology staff.

Develops and supervises staff by defining and prioritizing goals, assigning tasks, and providing guidance and direction; evaluates staff performance; promotes personal and professional development.

Establishes general schedules and priorities for system, programming, standards, communications, and other support projects.

Coordinates computing and network resources that support academic programs while ensuring system capacity to meet instructional technology needs.

Plans, organizes, coordinates and directs computer-related services.

Analyzes, designs, and implements a computer services operation.

Establishes and maintains cooperative relationships with faculty, staff, students and the public.

Determines budget recommendations and plans for computer services.

Provides support services that meet the current and emerging needs of students taking classes at all locations.

Performs related duties as assigned.
Salary is 70,524.88

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
-
Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of a baccalaureate degree in a course of study related to the occupational field.

Experience sufficient to thoroughly understand the diverse objectives and functions of the subunits in the division/department in order to direct and coordinate work within the division/department, usually interpreted to require five to seven years of related experience.
