Director, IT Support Services
Job Summary |
This position is primarily responsible for directing and managing all areas of IT Support Services, which include video production, printing & duplicating, desktop/AV support, and help desk support. Provide vision and direct the management and operations of the IT Support Services department, managing the personnel, procedures, policies, budget and equipment. Responsible for ensuring the provision of robust, reliable, and up-to-date technology and related services to the campus. The Director is responsible for the implementation and oversight of information security procedures and compliance with university policy, as well as interpreting IU-wide policies and ensuring compliance with state and federal laws. The Director, IT Support Services has responsibility for IT Security, IT Policy and Business Continuity; Learning Spaces and Collaborative Technologies; Client Service and System Support; Research Technologies Support; System Integration, System Administration; Instructional Media Support; Printing Infrastructure. Additionally, the Director, IT Support Services has responsibility for the following areas in the Columbus Learning Center: Enterprise Server Infrastructure; Printing infrastructure and billing services; Team building and Leadership; Client Service and System support; Storage and Virtualization; System Integration and System Administration; Instructional Media Support; Service Billing; Event Management. Required Qualifications |
REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a relevant field, plus 5 years of experience managing technology support in a multi-campus, networked environment. Combinations of related education and experience may be considered. Knowledge, skills, and abilities: 3 years’ experience managing technology support in multiple-campus network environment. 3 years’ experience in data analysis and manipulation. Extensive project management experience: Creating project plans, prioritizing and managing multiple concurrent tasks, projects, and demands with an energetic and self-directed attitude. Demonstrated ability to learn and understand new technology quickly. Financial management skills including, but not limited to, budget development and strategic analysis. Excellent planning and organizational skills. Demonstrated service orientation with a proven commitment to the highest quality standards. Ability to work with a wide range audiences with a high-level service orientation. Excellent communication skills both written and oral. Experience working with, and relating to, a wide range of audiences using tact, patience and courtesy. Familiarity with common office productivity, instructional, and research software packages. Energetic and highly motivated. |
Preferred Qualifications |
Master’s degree. 2 years’ experience in policy writing or interpretation. Experience writing and/or interpreting IT policy. |
