Director of Technical Services/Instructor of Library Services

Northeastern State University invites applications for the full time position of Director of Technical Services. The director is one of the three most senior positions in NSU Libraries. The purpose of the position is to provide leadership to a Technical Services department that includes one other professional librarian and four full-time paraprofessionals. The department is responsible for acquisitions including coordination with materials selectors; withdrawals; cataloging and classification; organization and accessibility of print and digital collections; maintaining a collection of state curriculum materials; maintaining contracts with materials vendors; coordinating with and training branch librarians for some technical services functions; for maintaining data in OCLC Worldshare Management System; and for preparing analytical reports about collections.

Requirements

• Professional master’s degree accredited by the American Library Association or international equivalent.
• 4+ years of professional experience in library technical services. Experience as a professional cataloger is preferred.
