The Lawrenceville School, a coeducational boarding and day school for students in grades 9-12, is seeking a Director of Technology whose expertise and innovative nature will help to continue the School’s overall efforts in teaching and learning with digital tools and support the school’s many operational technology platforms.

With both boarding and day students and a 1:1 laptop program for all students, Lawrenceville is dedicated to preparing students to appropriately utilize technology. The Director will facilitate the integration of digital tools and best practices into curriculum and administrative systems. Both a big picture thinker and a hands-on implementer, the Director engages with administrators, educators and support personnel, parents, and students to extend responsible and creative use of technology. The Director must be a strategic thinker with strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills, and the enthusiasm and credibility to create and sustain instructional momentum in the appropriate use of technology in the School’s curriculum and instruction. A strong focus on managing technology systems, infrastructure, and personnel will be required.
 

OPPORTUNITIES & CHALLENGES

  • The Director of Technology will sit on the Senior Staff team with the expectation of working with key personnel to prioritize technology needs of the school
  • Potential to restructure and add to the technology staff to create more synergy between academic and systems technology groups and help desks personnel
  • Review and establish technology best practices, policies and procedures across the schools many departments
  • Manage cyber-security efforts of the business operations for the school
  • Ability to support campus wide 1:1 program spanning all grades
  • Oversee the IT team and manage third-party vendors
  • Ensure that IT systems and projects are managed successfully
  • Managing high volume of help desk requests with creative technological solutions
  • Act as a liaison between business departments of the school brokering technology consensus
  • Using students as a resource in supporting the 1:1 program and schoolwide help desk
  • New Athletic Field House building presents opportunity to build additional technology infrastructure and facility communications systems
