Director, Technology
Under the direction of the Chief Business Official, plan, organize, deliver, direct and evaluate the services and staff of the Technology Services Department
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Plans, organizes and directs technology services.

Provides leadership in the use of technology including voice, data, and video.

Works with Teaching and Learning, Business, and Personnel Departments to develop, plan, and implement technology enhancements.

Determines and provides for information processing needs of educational and administrative operations.
-
Evaluates proposed information processing systems.
-
Defines problems and formulates guidelines, policies, and procedures for implementing resolutions.
-
Makes recommendations regarding priorities and organization, staffing, and equipment needs.
-
Performs complex systems analysis.
-
Provides for the notification and instruction in the use of technology for educational and administrative uses.
-
Provides for program documentation, operating instruction, and flow charts.
-
Maintains contact with manufacturers and other computer users to keep abreast of latest developments in hardware and software.
-
Performs other duties as assigned.

Plan, organize and administer technology services district-wide: Student Information System management - “Q” previously known as “Zangle”, Server management, Network and Desk top management that includes both PC and MAC’s and Library systems.

Plan, organize, administer, and evaluate a district-wide technology plan

Supervise the performance of assigned personnel

Communicate effectively both orally and in writing

Manage Linux servers and the services provided by them (web, LDAP, DNS, DHCP, etc.)

Oversee operations of Novell servers and services.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Any combination equivalent to: Master’s degrees in a technology relate field and five years of increasingly responsible experience with the management of technology systems and services.
