Director of Technology
Reporting to the Executive Director of Financial Operations and Technology, the Director of Technology provides key analytical and technical support for the successful management of critical campus and vendor-related systems required to deliver financial operations and Campus and Student Life services. The Director assists in the seamless delivery of enhancements, monitors and maintains the business process environment for continuous improvement, provides analytical and operational reporting support for the University’s Academic Information System (AIS). The Director oversees and maintains also assists in providing key technical support for Campus and Student Life vendor-related Systems and manages key interfaces with the AIS system.
Responsibilities:

Provide functional analysis and design to developers in the resolution of system issues; may participate in integration testing, user acceptance testing of new systems, upgrades and patching; plan, conduct and document results of testing.

Assist with feasibility of enhancement requests, identifying options, and recommending an IT development solution.

Review, research and evaluate software to determine its usefulness and appropriateness as related to existing or proposed business systems; assist with the development of preliminary and detailed system design documents for in-house and vendor systems.

Elicit and gather business and systems requirements using interviews, surveys, job shadowing and other elicitation techniques. Analyze new business requirements, system functionality, current system use and user needs; specify functional designs and work with developers and analysts to implement improvements.

Coordinate the implementation of new or modified business systems.

Develop instructional materials, training and job aids to support client use of the application.

Advise users requiring assistance in solving complex problems or issues regarding management and business systems.

Analyze data and provide data sets to users for analysis; develop operational and analytical reports for end users.

Work closely with the data architecture and technical development team to ensure the creation of an efficient technical solution that meets all functional business needs.

Provide analysis and recommendations regarding data management and the design of internal of operational and analytical reports.

Improves systems by studying current practices; designing modifications or system enhancements.

Troubleshoots system issues and recommends controls by identifying problems; documenting improved procedures and liaison with Campus Solutions Development Team.

Direct new initiatives to improve data and interface alignment.

Additional Requirements
Education, Experience and Certifications:
Education:
-
Master’s degree and five to seven years relevant experience or a combination of education and relevant experience required.
Experience

Experience with PeopleSoft Campus Solutions development/management required.

Project Management experience required.

Business process management experience required.
Technical Knowledge or Skills:
-
Advanced knowledge of PeopleSoft system queries and BI publisher knowledge required.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to bridge functional and technical resources by communicating effectively with individuals of varying systems expertise required.

Listening, negotiation and conflict resolution skills preferred.

Ability to maintain good customer relations with clients and outside vendors preferred.

Database and UX design knowledge required.
