Archbishop Curley invites applications for the position of Director of Technology. Located in Baltimore, Archbishop Curley High School is a Roman Catholic college preparatory school rooted in the Franciscan tradition and dedicated to the development of the Curley Man who is challenged to reach his maximum academic and personal potential leading him to be a man of faith, character, discipline, and service to others.
The Archbishop Curley High School Director of Technology is a 12 month, full-time position reserved for one who has a strong background and is experienced in the multifaceted aspects of technology as listed below; especially in the educational environment. At the same time our Director of Technology, on a professional level, must be able to relate well with faculty, staff and students.
The Ideal Candidate will possess a(n):

Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field

Minimum of 5 years progressively responsible experience in the development, installation and maintenance of information systems.

Proven record of accomplishment in technology planning and technology personnel management, ideally in a K-12 academic setting.

Experience preparing and managing budgets.

Proven track record of integrating technology into a classroom setting.
-
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
-
Broad knowledge of industry standards and best practices in the use of technology in schools.

Proven track record of managing multiple priorities.
-
Proven ability to negotiate and work with vendors and consultants.
-
Experience with a range of software, hardware, and operating systems.

Experience working with iPads and other mobile devices in education.

Strong understanding of and experience working with MS Active Directory, group policies, security groups, and network logon scripting.

Strong understanding of and experience working with cloud services such as Microsoft Azure, Office365 and Google Suite for Education.

Setup and operational knowledge of Windows 10, Microsoft Server 2012 and Mac OS.

Operational knowledge of Dell PowerEdge Servers.

Operational knowledge of Dell & Cisco switches.

Operational knowledge of Student Information Systems [SIS]
The Essential Functions of the Director of Technology include:

Providing leadership and technical support for the purpose of designing, developing and maintaining an efficient, unified and fully integrated technology system.

Directing department operations; the maintenance of services and the implementation of new programs and processes for the purpose of providing services within established time-frames and in compliance with the school’s strategic plan.

Collaborating with internal and external personnel (e.g. faculty, staff, administrators, hardware & software vendors, consultants, auditors, public agencies, and community members) for the purpose of implementing and maintaining services and programs.

Monitoring budget allocations, expenditures, fund balances and related financial activities for the purpose of ensuring that allocations are accurate, revenues are recorded, expenses are within budget limits and fiscal practices are followed.

Authorizing permissions and individual access to network, technology applications and services for the purpose of ensuring proper access to technology systems by staff, students, parents and others consistent with school operating guidelines and regulations.

Communicating technology related activities in a timely manner to all stakeholders.

Maintaining technology equipment and systems (e.g. servers, telephone systems, intercoms, alarms, surveillance cameras, software applications, network, mobile devices and desktop devices) for the purpose of ensuring that systems are functioning properly and effectively in support of school administrative and educational operations.

Managing procurement, inventory and surplus of technology equipment, systems and related services for the purpose of ensuring that all technology purchases for goods and services are consistent with the school’s technology objectives, and that equipment is properly inventoried and consistent with local and state regulations.

Testing technology applications, tools and programs for the purpose of assessing proposed products, programs or tools to provide feedback for the administrative decision processes, to ensure appropriate acquisition of educational and operational technology solutions and to assist others with these functions.

Coordinating the development and implementation of a multi-year school technology plan that aligns with the school’s strategic plan.
