Director of Technology
Responsibilities

Provide current, cutting edge information to support decision-making on academic and administrative technology matters

Partner with Administrators to articulate School’s mission and connections between ethics and technology
-
Ensure that tools for modern learning are available to all faculty for cutting edge learning for the School’s students
-
Oversee all administrative aspects of technology programs and services including infrastructure implementation and maintenance, support of educators and support staff in the use of hardware and equipment management

Responsible for annual review of the Technology Policy and implementation of any changes for both the Professional Community and students
-
Hands-on management of School’s Cisco network and Microsoft back-end infrastructure

Configuration and administration of Outlook 365 email and Google Education
-
Oversee and administer School’s Box and Dropbox cloud infrastructure
-
Understand Filemaker functionality and work with school Filemaker developer
-
Oversee and ensure student information system stability, availability, backups and data security
-
Track and purchase school-wide software licensing
-
Oversee Help Desk staff and quality of support, evaluate performance and make recommendations to enhance contributions

Purchase hardware and oversee one to one laptop/iPad programs
-
Manage technology infrastructure and academic technology budgets

Work with Plant Director and construction team on design related issues in on-going construction project; troubleshoot network and wireless anomalies in new spaces

Negotiate major technology contracts with maximum cost savings

Work to ensure information technology security and school safety; responsible for educating the School community to recognize and avoid security threats in email and elsewhere

Collaborate with divisional Academic Tech Integrators, Division Heads, and Head Librarian to provide support and guidance with pedagogical initiatives.

Work with Web Team to provide technology guidance and offer best practices
Required qualifications

Several years of experience in Information Technology within a professional setting

Several years of experience in management of a small information technology team preferably in an educational environment

A degree in Information Systems, Computer Information Systems or related discipline

Forward thinking, visionary leader of both people and programs, evidence of record of creative and innovative applications of technology

Experience with budget preparation and management and the ability to adhere to and operate within budgetary guidelines
-
Experience configuring Cisco network switching hardware and Palo Alto firewalls
-
Experience managing Apple echosystem
