Director of Technology
Vision:
The Director of Technology will implement technology solutions that support and improve school performance.
Purpose:
The Director will provide technology vision and strategic leadership in the development and implementation of the schoolwide technology program.
Essential Functions:

Provide strategic leadership and general oversight for the IT department staff.

Develop and execute a schoolwide instructional technology plan, focusing on the integration of technology into the instructional curriculum and programs.

Provide leadership and day to day management for Technology Integrators and IT faculty.

Conduct needs assessments to recommend new instructional technology products, skills and capabilities and develop value cases.

In partnership with the Senior Leadership team (Chief Financial Officer, Division Directors, etc.) establish and monitor operating and capital budgets for instructional technology implementation, information technology systems, networks, and platforms.

Develop and implement the school’s short and long term technology plans and support, including action plans and annual budgets

Develop technology operating and capital budgets, allocates resources and determines appropriate project schedules

Develop and implement schoolwide technology infrastructure and software strategies and direction (Michael has this plan all laid out in a slideshow. He also has a printed out version in the Tech Office)

Oversee the use of technology throughout the school and plan support for effective implementation of curriculum through the use of technology.

In coordination with the Division Heads, Departmental Chairs, and Human Resources, develop and implement a professional development plan for faculty and staff relative to the integration of technology and curriculum.

Serve as a source of information on trends, research, applications and effective practices in the field of instructional technology in schools.

Formulate technology departmental policies and procedures; recommend new or revised standards and protocols that are consistent with the vision, mission and strategic plan.

Administer the 1:1 program with the divisional technology integrators

Guide the allschool Technology Committee focused on technology use policy and vision development.

Participate in strategic leadership and academic council meetings.

Follow up with Vendors regarding the Security System, Electrical System, Network, and Boiler Room.

Schedule 1 on 1 with Faculty/Staff for new hire computer setups or replacement Computer Setups

Manage and Maintain Progress Reports Process and System

Travel between both Lower School and Middle School Campuses for IT Support

Manage Tech Budget and Purchase Requests Needed for Lower and Middle School

Manage and Support Classroom Equipment such as replacing Projectors or Troubleshooting Audio issues.

Managing and Maintaining The Google Infrastructure for AVS which includes Google Accounts, E-mail, and E-mail lists.
Qualifications:
Required: Bachelor's Degree, Master's preferred
Preferred: Experience working in a school, non-profit, or community setting
