Director of Technology
Abraham Joshua Heschel School, located in New York City, is an independent Jewish school, N-12, unaffiliated with any single movement or synagogue. We are currently seeking a Director of Technology. Reporting to the Assistant Head of School and Chief Financial Officer, and supervising a staff of seven, the Director of Technology is responsible for all of the School’s technology. Working collaboratively with the other departments, the Director will help craft the strategy for using technology to support and achieve the institution’s goals.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree a plus
Seven or more years of progressively responsible experience providing infrastructure support, preferably in a school environment.
Strong technical understanding of network and computer operating systems.
Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
Able to act strategically while attending to details.
Strong project management skills and capable of overseeing vendors.
Experience with Senior Systems Student Information System a huge plus.
Experience in programming and/or managing contract programmers.
Specific Areas of Responsibilities:
Develop and manage capital and operating budget for Technology.
Manage all Technology purchasing.
Support the Apple 1-to-1 Laptop Program in High School.
Oversee backup and data security.
Manage all telecommunications.
