Director of Technology
Maret School's Director of Technology develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates the School's administrative and instructional technology programs. This individual manages the infrastructure and academic use of technology across three divisions serving as the leader for the long-term technology strategy. The Director manages a team of six including: two Instructional Technologists, Network Administrator, Database Manager, and two teaching faculty. Candidates should be well-acquainted with both Windows and Apple operating systems, bring your own device programs, database management and willing to work with faculty, students and parents. The Director, in concert with other School officials, will provide institutional leadership, direction, and vision for Maret's technology program.
Responsibilities & Functions
- Guide the academic development of the K-12 technology-related curriculum
- Facilitate the development of the MakerSpace program across all divisions
- Provide leadership for short- and long-range planning for all technology initiatives including infrastructure and curriculum efforts
- Coordinate the implementation and maintenance of the School's technology resources, including all data and video technologies
- Encourage faculty technology initiatives
- Engage faculty by providing ideas and support for the use of technology in the classroom
- Serve as a resource for information on the current landscape of educational and institutional technology
- Coordinate the operational aspects of our Veracross student information system and integration with internal and external partners
- Provide thoughtful and responsive service to constituents
- Promote responsible and thoughtful use of technology throughout the community
- Manage the budgets, resources, projects, department staff and day-to-day operations
- Effectively communicate technology needs, priorities and challenges to School administrators
- Ensure operational continuity of all technology resources
- Familiarity with video teleconference systems
- Work with the Head of School or her designee on special projects to be determined
Required Minimum Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- Masters degree preferred
- At least five years of job-related experience
