Work Shift/Work Hours: Day Shift
Days of Work: Monday-Friday 8:00a-4:30p. Must be available to work evening and weekend hours. NOTE: HTC is closed on Fridays in the summer (May 29-August 6). During this time, this position would work 4 - 10 hour days Monday-Thursday. Must be avaliable to work evenings and weekends.
Travel Required: Yes - Up to 50% of the time (This position will be located at both Brooklyn Park and Eden Prairie Campuses with Brooklyn Park as the home campus.)
Salary Range: $31.90 - $55.13/hourly; $66,607 - $115,111/annually

Job Summary
Hennepin Technical College welcomes applicants with a strong commitment and background in academic technology and technology operations to serve as a Director of Technology and Innovation. This position oversees and supervises the daily technology support desk and provides leadership and strategic planning for academic technology and innovation. Specific areas under the prevue of this position include the technology support desk, academic technology and innovation staff and oversight of Hennepin Technical College’s online instructional environment.
Salary placement is based on experience and education and is directed by the State of Minnesota. Placement within the salary range is based upon education and years of experience, and is directed by State of Minnesota policy. The current salary range for this position is $66,607 – $115,111. The purpose of this position is to monitor and direct short term and long term educational and operational technology plans aligned to institution strategic plans and educational technology needs. Establish and maintain a technology department culture of service effectiveness, accountability and innovation. While maintaining an understanding of diversity and inclusion, leads educational technology initiatives to support innovative and engaging use of technology in the face to face and online environments. Acts as institution CIO when needed.
Specific duties include:

NOTE: Hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM HTC is closed on Fridays in the summer (May 29-August 6). During this time, this position would work 4 – 10 hour days Monday through Thursday. Must be available to work evening and weekend hours. This position will be located at both Brooklyn Park and Eden Prairie Campuses, Must be able to travel between campuses and to off-site locations.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, computer science, educational technology or related field. Five (5) years' experience supporting technology and/or academic technology

Three (3) years supervisory experience

Experience developing and administering budgets
-
Experience with academic pedagogy and implementing educational technology programs
-
Experience supporting or promoting online learning management systems
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Master’s degree in Information Technology, computer science, educational technology or related field

Teaching or faculty experience in a higher education setting
- Experience implementing professional learning communities to promote educational technology
