St. Anne School, an independent Catholic School in Laguna Niguel, is seeking an exceptional Director of Technology Instruction.  A valid teaching credential along with a minimum of two years teaching experience is preferable. We are looking for a talented, creative, hard-working, team player with a broad-range of artistic skills, along with an appreciation of developmental characteristics of  middle school students to join our strong faculty.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         Acts as a role model of professionalism in a Catholic environment.

·         Supports the philosophy, policies and goals of the school, as well as the decisions made by the Board of Directors and Administrators.

·         Insures the health, safety and welfare of all students.

·         Holds in strict confidence all matters pertaining to the school.

  • Adheres to all policies and procedures as outlined in the Parent/Student Handbook and Employee Handbook.
  • Attends faculty and administrative meetings as needed.

DEFINITION:

The Director of Technology Instruction supports the teachers and students through teaching, administrative support, IT support, and the ongoing development, integration and evaluation of instructional technology. The Director of Technology Instruction will also support the administration in collaboration, planning, training of teachers, and the implementation of the established technology plan for the school.

DUTIES:

Teaching

  • ·         Two hybrid Social Science FPS classes taught 3-4 days a week each.  The Social Science portion of FPS/Social Science is taught as a hybrid class. 
  • ·         The Instructional Technology Specialist (ITS) is responsible for the earning design, communication and assessment of Social Science student work. 
  • ·         The Director of Technology Instruction will meet with students by grade levels 1-2 times a week to hold discussions and teach key concepts in person.  The rest of the learning occurs online through Edmodo.  The learning tasks are organized and presented through a website.  Communication through the program takes place through Edmodo. 

                     

Administrative Support

  • ·         Help administration create and implement curriculum and technology programs.
  • ·         Give support and advice in terms of policy and planning in terms of technology.
  • ·         Help efficiency by creating digital solutions to everyday school needs as they arise.
  • ·         Help organize and support technology-based electives.
  • ·         Create a weekly page in Knights Illustrated dedicated to informing parents with happenings regarding technology at St. Anne to include tech updates.  
  • ·         Weekly Grade Reports.  Continue to implement and enhance Middle School Weekly Parent Communication or advisement to parents in better utilizing the school website to access grades and information.
  • ·         Serve as chair of the steering committee for the 2016-2017 CAIS self-study and accreditation visit.
  • ·         Work with the Head of School to establish an implementation plan for the Common Sense responsible use curriculum.

IT Support

  • ·         Help IT with support in terms of policy, planning and other assistance when possible.
  • ·         Assist IT in the current capacity through Blackbaud, Education Edge, iPad maintenance and other necessities on an as needed basis.
  • ·         Help assist teachers with access to gradebooks, the website and other Educational Technology needs.

Teacher Support

  • ·         Enhance the student learning process through the use of technology. 
  • ·         Support teachers to excel in their use and expertise in technology by working with the staff to develop key technology teaching goals. 
  • ·         Assist teachers and students make the most out of the technology resources at St. Anne.

QUALIFICAITON:

  • ·         Bachelor’s degree in Education, business or a related field.
  • ·         Master’s Degree in Education or a PPS Credential is preferred
  • ·         Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • ·         Experience with developing and maintaining productive working relationships with parents, administrators and faculty.
  • ·         Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

·         High degree of integrity and ethics.

·         Experience in development and implementation of policies and procedures.

·         Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and adhere to strict timelines, with a high degree of initiative and independent judgment.
