Oak Hall School is seeking an experienced and visionary professional to be our first Director of Technology Integration, to guide and work collaboratively with faculty and staff to ensure that Oak Hall School excels in digital and innovative learning practices, preparing students with cutting edge skill-sets and competencies. The Director of Technology Integration will provide consultation, leadership, and support for the IT team and teachers in the Lower, Middle, and Upper Schools,  strategically visioning and coordinating projects and initiatives related to digital learning and innovation.    We invite well-qualified candidates to apply for this position which can begin as early as January 2020, and not later than July 2020.

Key Responsibilities

  • Actively support the mission of Oak Hall School

  • Facilitate data-driven decision-making to determine faculty and student device selection, classroom instructional needs, and overall school learning needs

  • Collaborate with teachers in planning for the use and infusion of digital tools and current learning practices into the instructional program

  • Co-teach with teachers, coach and model effective teaching practices that leverage the use of digital tools

  • Work closely with senior leadership, curriculum leaders, and teachers to develop innovative technology solutions for instructional delivery and assessments

  • Serve as a member of the One School senior leadership team

  • Supervise the Director of Technology

  • Manage the Technology budget

  • Identify key strategic issues in educational technology and partner with IT to create ground level action plans to address them

  • Assist teachers in accessing a variety of digital tools to more effectively differentiate instruction in order to accommodate the needs of students

  • Stay abreast of current and emerging research on emerging technologies and their potential applications in education and research-based practices on educational technology and pedagogical practices 

  • In collaboration with other teachers, design technology-related classes and curriculum for students

  • Create learning resources and training materials for teachers, families, students, and staff. These may include websites, tutorials, interactive guides, and programs that support teachers in integrating technology.

  • Plan and deliver professional development workshops and trainings for faculty in educational skills, applications, and best practices

  • Partner with the Academic Dean and others in the development of a digital learning curriculum

  • Work collaboratively with the IT department and Academic Dean to plan and execute whole school technology-based projects that advance the mission of Oak Hall School

  • Champion and showcase educational technology projects

  • Seeks and participates in opportunities for professional growth and networking to be fully engaged in discovering, considering, pursuing, and implementing, as appropriate, best practices in this role, particularly within the independent school community

  • Be a role model of integrity and professionalism

  • Work positively and professionally with all constituencies of the school

  • Meet regular and reliable attendance requirements, including attending division and other school meetings, graduation, professional days, Late Starts, and other required events

  • Adhere to School policies as described in the Employee Handbook and other materials

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education or technology-related field, required

  • Advanced degree in instructional technology or other related field strongly preferred

  • Extensive knowledge, experience, and successful implementation of instructional technology in a school setting, required

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a teaching position, in an educational technology position, or a combination thereof or related

  • Strong knowledge of educational technology learning resources with evidence of effective practices for teaching and learning

  • Demonstrated skills in project management and change management

  • A team player with a creative and inclusive approach to problem solving

  • Strong presentation skills

  • Demonstrated planning, organizational, and time-management skills to effectively prioritize multiple initiatives simultaneously and achieve desired goals and successful outcomes within defined periods of time

  • A high degree of professionalism, collegiality, and personal conduct, both in and outside of school

  • Ability, willingness, and judgment to communicate thoroughly, accurately, and concisely with all constituents in the school community
