Educational Technologist
This position will be focused on working with elementary faculty and students. The Educational Technologist is a professional leader of educational technology in support of Mid-Pacific Institute’s technology vision and initiatives in support of the school’s focus on deeper learning. Working closely with the Director of Educational Technology, the Educational Technologist focuses on managing technology facilities/equipment, professional development, support for teachers and students as well as research and development of new technologies. They ensure that all equipment in the technology facilities are maintained and in working order and assist students and teachers with checking equipment in and out. They support elementary teachers with the integration of technology into their curriculum by classroom visits with teachers serving as their “tech buddies” and attending elementary School faculty meetings. In addition, this role involves exploring and experimenting with emerging and innovative uses of technology in our technology facilities and in the classroom.
REQUIREMENTS
Must be a professional self-starter who is passionate about technology and keeps abreast of all facets of technology including, but not limited to, hardware, software, social media, and educational technology legislation. Demonstrate organizational skills for keeping the facility clean and equipment organized. Serve as a pleasant, professional, knowledgeable and approachable point of contact for faculty, staff, students, and families. Effectively communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences through outstanding written, oral communication, and presentation skills.
